Ibrahim Celikkol to star in movie about Rumi
According to several media sources, Ibrahim Celikkol has been slotted to star in a new Iranian-Turkish co-production of the life of Persian poet, Jalalodin Rumi, also known as Mevlana. The feature film is called "Mest-i Ask" or "Intoxicated by Love. It will be directed by Iranian Hassan Fat'hi and will feature both Turkish and Iranian actors.
The entire film will shot in Konya, a Turkish town that is home to the mausoleum of Rumi. The film is expected to be released in January 2020.
Update: April 2020. The film shooting has been completed however it has been delayed by the situation with the covid virus.
Update: June 10, 2020 Producer Mehran Boroomand announced that they expect to release the film by the end of the summer.
